The Olive & Artichaut restaurant in Nice or the Art of Enhancing Local Produce

Gourmets take note! Recently installed in the heart of the Old Town in Nice, the restaurant Olive & Artichaut is one of the new spots not to miss. Here Provencal flavors and local produce work together with subtlety for a "simple, natural and unpretentious cuisine".

Directed by Thomas Hubert and Aurélie Marion, formerly students at the Nice hotel and catering school, this establishment, born on 1 November 2013, is called Olive & Artichaut to honor the region’s iconic products. If local cuisine and local produce are in the spotlight, it’s not simply by chance !

Originally from Nice, the chef Thomas Hubert wants at all costs to honor authentic Mediterranean flavors. To do this, each day he sets himself the challenge of presenting a new menu of three starters, three main courses and three desserts that change according to the market and his inspirations. On the menu: roasted cod served with fish soup and julienned vegetables, lentil soup with foie gras and a vegetable brunoise, artichoke risotto, galette des rois (Epiphany cake) or raspberry and blueberry jam tart.

Here, first and foremost, produce takes precedence, and the recipes look to be simple and authentic. And to delight foodies, a deli space also allows you to purchase all kinds of local specialties (olive oil, preserved lemon…), and without forgetting the traditional Sunday brunch, which should not be missed!
