Almond, The Sweet Elixir of Provence

Sweet and bountiful, the almond has many qualities. A beauty treatment or gourmet ingredient, this wonderful nut is at the service of wellbeing in all its forms.

Native to the Middle East, the almond tree has occupied, over the centuries, a prominent place on the landscapes of Provence. Heralding the arrival of spring, the pinkish white flowers awake in March to give way to the sweet or bitter almonds the following months. Preferred in their sweet version, these nuts, with their scent of childhood, are carefully harvested for their many uses.

Popular as a beauty treatment since ancient times, the famous Prunus Dulcis demonstrates, notably, amazing softening and moisturizing properties. Cold pressed, its nut releases a creamy oil rich in vitamins A and E, renowned for deeply penetrating the skin and imparting astonishing firmness. Mingled with its crushed shells, it metamorphoses into a nourishing scrub, gently exfoliating the face and body.

Representing for the Greeks the divine part of man, the kernel is also essential in the kitchen. Whole, slivered, crushed or roasted, it is an inexhaustible source of fiber, protein and nutrients, famous for its powerful antioxidant benefits. This wellbeing cocktail reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and bad cholesterol, while eliminating the sensation of hunger. In short, the perfect snack, combining rich flavor with daily benefits.
