Mistake no. 1: letting your skin become too dry

Soaking up the sun, with the proper protection, provides your body with a wealth of natural vitamins. The human body, which is 60% water tends to become dry in the sun. Keeping well hydrated should be top priority before, during and after prolonged sun exposure. Good hydration is even more important at the beach, where the combination of water, sand and wind can make your skin feel leathery. Now more than ever, use Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Lotion: its nourishing formula blending calming calendula, moisturising shea, gentle almond and rejuvenating honey pampers dry skin morning and night.

Bonus: to boost your skin care regime, use a scrub to help eliminate residue from sand and dead skin cells. Your tan will glow!

Mistake no. 2: neglecting your hair

Do you dream of having hair that's as wavy as the sea? That dream is hard to achieve when your hair is dull and tangled, tired out by salt water and dried by the hot sun. After every visit to the beach, pamper your locks by washing and moisturising with hair care products tailored to your hair type. Before letting your tresses air dry, apply Aromachologie Repairing Hair Oil. This nourishing blend of sweet almond oil and 5 essential oils restores your hair's strength and shine without weighing it down.

Bonus: the holidays are the perfect time to let your hair rest, too. Go easy on the hairdryer and straighteners for a more natural look.

Mistake no. 3: forgetting your hands and feet

Spending time on the beach can result in your hands and feet being more exposed to the environment than usual. Walking in the sand barefoot or in sandals instead of in closed shoes can cause your feet to dry quickly, sometimes forming a callous layer on your heels. To pamper your feet, apply Shea Butter Foot Cream morning and night after showering to restore softness and suppleness. Do the same for your hands. Whether or not you're an expert at building sand castles, your hands, too, deserve to be moisturised with shea butter.

Bonus: a mani/pedi is the best option for care that extends to the tips of your fingers and toes. Use a protective polish and say goodbye to cracked and broken nails!
